23/07/28: Richard is back from a three months long trip to New York City and already working on a new series of abstract paintings again.
23/07/15: One of Richard´s works, Threat, is part of the group exhibtion „RADIKALkontrast“ at Galerie Thomas Hühsam in Offenbach, Germany, also featuring works by artists such as Oliver Raszewski and Andy Warhol.

22/06/22: Besides some small and medium format paintings Richard is currently working on a multidisciplinary performance show, including painting, music, video sculpture and performance. The work will be premiered in late 2023. Stay tuned for more information.

2020/03/15: Richard spent the first two months of the year at a residency in Oskar Rink´s studio at Spinnerei Leipzig. Spinnerei is the working home of artists like Neo Rauch, Matthias Weischer, David Schnell and many more. Richard produced several new works for his series „A quick bite“ and started new series as well. Stay tuned for more information coming soon.

2019/12/26: Richard had a blast show at Spectrum Miami during Art Basel week and is now looking forward to working at Spinnerei Leipzig for the next two months.

2019/04/02: Richard Reuys created a sculpture for the Water Event during the Yoko Ono retrospective called Peace is Power at Museum der bildenden Künste (MdbK), Leipzig
Shishi Odoshi
The sculpture is based on a „Shishi Odoshi“, a fountain used in Japanese gardens to frighten away unwanted animals. But the sound of flowing water and the repetitive sound of a pipe hitting a rock also create a calming, meditative effect.
Apart from water, the sculpture consists of two US Army discarded missile containers, a stone, and a pipe system with a pump. The containers serve on the one hand as a vessel for the water and on the other hand as a holder for the well inlet.
The complete object is painted white. Only the type plates indicate the original purpose of the containers.
Appearance and meaning
The pure and white appearance, the soothing sound of the vivid watercourse and the recurring tapping of the fountain system transform the former missile containers into a peaceful yet dynamic sculpture.
Not alone, but in their interaction water and object symbolize the power of peace.
